Cover Reveal!: Dead & Buried by Kim Harrington

Jade loves the house she's just moved into with her family. She doesn't even mind being the new girl at the high school: It's a fresh start, and there's that one guy with the dreamy blue eyes. . . . But then things begin happening. Strange, otherworldly things. Jade's little brother claims to see a glimmering girl in his room. Jade's jewelry gets moved around, as if by an invisible hand. Kids at school whisper behind her back like they know something she doesn't.
Soon, Jade must face an impossible fact: that her perfect house is haunted. Haunted by a ghost who's seeking not just vengeance, but the truth. The ghost of a girl who ruled Jade's school -- until her untimely death last year. It's up to Jade to put the pieces together before her own life is at stake. As Jade investigates the mystery, she discovers that her new friends in town have more than a few deep, dark secrets. But is one of them a murderer?
Oh gosh, I love Kim Harrington's new stand alone book! The cover is so pretty and the description <3

Where have I been?

Bonjour my lovely readers! I apologize for my long absence! It's almost summer! YAY! Unfortunately, if you're from NYC you know the regents are coming near. A few weeks ago, I just finished my AP World History test, and as for the last two weeks, I have to stock up as much studying as possible.
I haven't been slacking up in my reading though! I got myself "GRIMM's the Complete Leather-bounded collection" in/by B&N! It's lovely! This week I have to complete an essay and also a powerpoint presentation for the book I choose.
When I come back full force, I won't come back empty handed I promise! There will be a new feature/post section in my blog: Books I've read but haven't reviewed. There are certain books that I've read but just haven't reviewed. This post will actually contain books that I've gotten just today! Really happy :)

With the help of the handsome, self-destructive Will and the fiercely devoted Jem, Tessa discovers that the Magister's war on the Shadowhunters is deeply personal. He blames them for a long-ago tragedy that shattered his life. To unravel the secrets of the past, the trio journeys from mist-shrouded Yorkshire to a manor house that holds untold horrors, from the slums of London to an enchanted ballroom where Tessa discovers that the truth of her parentage is more sinister than she had imagined. When they encounter a clockwork demon bearing a warning for Will, they realize that the Magister himself knows their every move and that one of their own has betrayed them.
Tessa finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, though her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her. But something is changing in Will; the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers about who she is and what she was born to do?
As their dangerous search for the Magister and the truth leads the friends into peril, Tessa learns that when love and lies are mixed, they can corrupt even the purest heart.

Review:
I regret not being able to read this book sooner. I adore this series and it's just amazing. But enough about what I think.

In this book the main theme that is portrayed throughout this book (in my opinion) is realizing who you really love. Although Will had been there for Tessa in book 1 , book 2 brings some surprisingly new changes which I APPROVE. A side note: I am on Team Jem!!!!.

Cassandra Clare has never failed to amaze me with her surprising cliff hangers and also story telling. I love her writing style, as it will capture you and make you addicted to her writing like never before. Each new book of her series brings new surprises and also new emotions.

Throughout this book, I had understood Tessa well, since she was stuck between Will and Jem, and Sophie when her unrequited love was brought up.   I love all the characters in this book, and we are also introduced to old characters which we haven't explored well enough, and also new ones where we haven't had the chance to meet in Clockwork Angel.

If you love Cassandra Clare's work, and you haven't picked this series OR read this book, GO.GET.A.COPY.NOW.

P.S. Now I have to start saving money to order this book and as well as the new books coming!

Rich, compelling writing will keep the pages turning in this riveting and tautly told psychological thriller.

Review:
Firstly, the cover is gorgeous! I just realize the cover is formatted like a tarot card :) And tarot cards played an very important role in this book!

I didn't really enjoy this book as I had anticipated I would, however I did adore the suspense and the twist Sara Wilson Etienne had brought to the readers. I love how the suspense unwraps in the middle of the most unbelievable place.

However, I didn't really enjoy the character developments. I didn't really 'connect' with any of the characters throughout this book, and that was a disappointment to me.

Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read a book filled with intensity, and suspense.

Description:
Everybody knows Cate Cahill and her sisters are eccentric. Too pretty, too reclusive, and far too educated for their own good. But the truth is even worse: they’re witches. And if their secret is discovered by the priests of the Brotherhood, it would mean an asylum, a prison ship—or an early grave.

Before her mother died, Cate promised to protect her sisters. But with only six months left to choose between marriage and the Sisterhood, she might not be able to keep her word... especially after she finds her mother’s diary, uncovering a secret that could spell her family’s destruction. Desperate to find alternatives to their fate, Cate starts scouring banned books and questioning rebellious new friends, all while juggling tea parties, shocking marriage proposals, and a forbidden romance with the completely unsuitable Finn Belastra.

If what her mother wrote is true, the Cahill girls aren’t safe. Not from the Brotherhood, the Sisterhood—not even from each other.
Review:
Born Wicked was truly one of my most amazing books I've ever read. I normally don't read paranormal books with witches on it, but they've been my latest addiction.

Jessica Spotswood had done an excellent job in engaging the readers in this book. I love how she had dropped a 'bomb' in different parts of this book and also how she did an amazing job in creating suspense and the increasingly importance & demand of Cate's decisions.

The emotions of Cate was well expressed throughout this book and I absolutely adore how Jessica Spotswood had designed each character. She gave each of the sisters and both Paul and Finn a distinctive voice where we want to know more about each of them. The mystery of who Cate will choose and also the fate of her sisters that lies in her hands were placed so carefully throughout this book.

I love each and every part of this book, especially the bombs, suspense, and the plot line. I adore Jessica Spotswood's writing style and I can't wait to read more!
